John Fisher was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the son of a Navy Chief and Filipino Housewife. John first began his venture into Pastry Arts while attending High School in Newport, RI. There he enrolled into the Baking & Pastry Vocational program and fell in love with Pastry arts.
After school, John apprenticed under famed Pastry Chef Warren Roberge for 2 years. In 1998 John became Executive Pastry Chef for Excellent Coffee Company Inc (Ocean Coffee Roasters Bakery Cafes) new bakery commissary. While there John was instrumental in developing all pastries, desserts & menus for the new division.
After a successful tenure at Excellent Coffee Company, John left to work as Pastry Chef for award winning Chef John Sorenson and his restaurants, Asterisk Brasserie, Boulangerie Asterisk, and A&O Fish in Newport, Rhode Island.
In 2007 John was selected as Pastry Sous Chef for the new Twin River Casino in Lincoln, RI. Under the direction of former (Foxwoods Casino former head chef) Executive Chef Scott Kaiser and fellow Pastry chef Jim Ungiran they launched the world class pastry shop at Twin River.
John likes to use fresh local ingredients and use his Filipino background to influence his taste of menus. John lives in Fall River, Massachusetts with his wife Sue, step daughter Shiyann and their dog Vegas.
